Klezmer, Tango, Jazz and the longing for the moon
Free-floating, melancholic clarinet melodies accompanied by a dancing pearl-style acrobatic guitar: The Duo Becker | Doppscher explores the whole spectrum of klezmer, tango and jazz. In addition, their passion for musical moon journies – from the specially arranged “Der Mond ist aufgegangen” to the “Moonlight Serenade”, “Fly me to the Moon”. With presence and professionalism, well-known pieces and own compositions, the two Berlin musicians enchant in concerts, official receptions and in private settings.
Becker | Doppscher create entertaining music in the best sense: refreshing, animating, and slightly airy, with content and virtuosity. They revel in the humorous sadness of klezmer, a music that has seen everything in life – mercilessly honest and beautiful human, forgiving and hopeful. In addition, they blend the improvisational pleasure of jazz and the playful spoil of tango. The result is musically magic: Like the moon and the tides, it is about flowing, dressing and releasing.
